DELE - Diploma of Spanish as a Foregin language
The Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign language is an official certificate of knowledge of Spanish for non-native speakers. The exams are carried out by the Cervantes Institute under the supervision of the Spanish Ministry of Education and are recognized by businesses and institutions all over the world as the standard proof of knowledge of Spanish.
The exams at three levels are held twice a year – in May and in November in more
than 240 cities in 70 countries.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Everyone who wants to present himself at DELE exam, should obey the following
requirements:

Citizens of non Spanish-speaking countries only
Mandatory proof of citizenship of a country where Spanish is not the official language.

Citizens of Spanish-speaking countries living in a country where Spanish is not an official language can present themselves at the D.E.L.E. exam if they meet at least two of following conditions:

Spanish is not the mother tongue of any of his parents

Spanish is not the first language that was learned
-
Spanish is not the language spoken in daily life
-
Spanish hasn’t been studied in total or part of the primary or secondary
education
LEVELS
Beginner level
The exam at beginner level confirms the elementary Spanish linguistic skills,
needed in most common situations.
Intermediate level
The exam at intermediate level accredits the knowledge of Spanish, which is
necessary in daily life. At this level of difficulty, only common vocabulary is
required.
Proficiency level
The exam at proficiency level certifies the high linguistic skill, the
knowledge of Spanish at level that is needed in situations that require
advanced vocabulary and grammatical accuracy. In addition you have to know
Spanish culture and customs.
REGISTRATION DETAILS

REQUIREMENTS to register to DELE exam the candidate should present
following documents:

The registration form correctly completed that can be obtained in the
registering centres or on the internet.

An original and photocopy of the identity document with name and surname,
nationality, date and place of birth.
The dates have to correspond with the registration form.

After the registration each candidate obtain the copy of registration form with
a assigned code, and afterwards the place, date and hour of an exam will be
sent by mail.
