| COST OF LIVING IN BARCELONA |

Just like Madrid, Barcelona is a big city. That’s why Barcelona is not one of the cheapest places in Spain. We did some research and the following is what we found out about the costs of living in Barcelona (updated 2006):
In a supermarket:
- Bread - 0.70€
- Milk - 0.70€
- Water (1,5l) - 0.50€
Eating out:
- Big Mac Menu - 4.10€
- Hamburger (in a spanish bar) - 2.50€
- Coffee with milk - 1.20€ - 2.50€
- Snacks (Tapas) - 1.00€
- Beer - 2.50€
- Glass of vine - 2.50€
- Dinner in a restaurant - 20.00€
Disco:
- Coca cola - 5.00€
- Beer - 5.00€ - 12€
- Shot - 2.00€
- Long drink - 8.00€ - 12&eruo;
Cultural and sport events:
- Cinema - 5.00€
- Theatre - 15.00€
- Swimming pool (1 hour) - 3.00€
- Gym (1 month) - 20.00-40.00€
Transport:
- Bus (center) - 0.77€
- Taxi (center) - 5.00-7.00€
- Rent a car (per day) - 40.00€
- Metro Ticket - 10 journeys - 6.65 Euros
T10 ticket, also can be used in FGC (FGC run train lines similar to the metro around the city centre) buses, tram and RENFE all Zone 1 areas. The main city centre areas are all in Zone 1.
