Colourful and always teeming with life Barcelona draws people from all over the world. To experience how entertaining this city is, you have to visit it yourself. But, of course we can give you an introduction.
Crowded La Rambla with showman, stalls full of magazines, postcards, jewellery, flowers and even animals, and the neighbouring market La Boqueria with fresh fruits, vegetables and sea food, are the first places to see. Just a few minutes from there, you can enter the Barri Gotic, the medieval part of the city. Tangle of narrow, winding streets, impressive residences, museums, vivid cafes, a huge gothic cathedral La Seu – all of that you can find on just 500 squared meters.
Easy to reach from La Rambla is Port Vell, A fresh breeze is waiting for you, when you cross the wooden suspension bridge, shifted above the port, connecting the city with the modern shopping center Maremagnum. Here, check the fancy shops, bars and restaurants with a magnificent view on the port. The nearby L`aquarium, the biggest in Europe, is filled with over 10,000 fish. You can explore some of the specimens, walking through the centre of the shark tank down the 80 metres long glass tunnel.
For every art fan, Barcelona is just like heaven. Works of the most famous representative of cubism, Pablo Picasso, and surrealist Joan Miró can be found in the most famous painting museums in Barcelona. Apart from these exhibitions, you can find a lot of great works, like Joan Miro’s round inlay at the Plaza de Boqueria, just by walking and exploring the old centre of Barcelona. The fancy, vanguard projects of Antonio Gaudi hidden among the usual tenements, a fairy Park Guell and an unfinished La Sagrada Familia are the unshakable stops during the turistic trip round Barcelona.
