Mallorca's climate varies from the sweltering heat extremes of July and August to the cool of a winter in the Serra de Tramuntana. Mallorca enjoys an average of 300 days of sun yearly and an average annual temperature of around 17ºC, which makes it an ideal destination to combine a course of Spanish with a relaxing vacation during any season of the year. As in most of the islands, the wind has a strong influence on the climatic conditions.
The best time to visit Mallorca is during the spring and autumn months when the heat does not preclude practicing sports and enjoying the sun all day long. At this time of year the nights become less sultry, the landscape begins to bloom and also you can avoid the high-seson summer crowds. Both sesons experience similar temperstures but autumn is Mallorca`s stormy seson so you risk spending some time indoors.
Summer, with more than 12 hours of sunshine a day, is definitely time to head for the beach or swimming-pool and sunbathe or practice watersports.
During the winter months it can get quite cold, especially in the higher parts of the island while the weather in the lower parts is much milder.
