City of SALAMANCA
The city, located north-west
of Madrid in the province of Castilla and Leon in Spain, is famous for one of
the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world, hosting 50.000
students a year. More than 30.000 foreigners come to Salamanca every year to
improve their Spanish language skills. This makes Salamanca a very cosmopolitan
place, where you can make new friends who come from all over the world. The
University of Salamanca has strong influence on the atmosphere of the city and
brings a boost to life.

With only 180.000 inhabitants
Salamanca astonishes with richness of cultural and social events. This makes it
a very special and unusual mixture of bright lights of a big modern city and
laziness of a small town. Salamanca is also called ‘The Golden Town’ because of
the sandstones which are used as building material and create a golden glow
when the sun lights up the city.
A great advantage of Salamanca
is the spoken language in this area. This is the purest Spanish without any
regional accents or dialects. This lets you improve your Spanish language
skills also outside the classroom of your Spanish language school.
